I wanted to try acupuncture for a long time to help my stress levels but there was one thing that was stopping me: a fear of needles. However, Melissa tailored the acupuncture to me and started off gently, using a acupuncture pen and gradually, over the next few months, we built up to introducing needles into the treatment. Now, six months on, I have overcome my fear. This is entirely down to Melissa’s patience, caring nature and the fact that I trust her implicitly and I would thoroughly recommend Cirencester Acupuncture.

Whilst I had heard of acupuncture, my knowledge was limited and I was skeptical of how it worked and whether it was simply a placebo. After months of muscle aches and neck problems and little improvement from chiropractors and osteopaths, I began to feel desperate and in need of an alternative. I searched the Internet for acupuncture in the area and found Melissa’s website. The information on the website restored me with feelings that I could be helped and this form of medicine may be the answer.
I can’t believe the results- Melissa’s professional but friendly approach and comfortable treatment room was instantly comforting and after just one session I felt an immediate improvement. Not only did my aches and pains improve, I felt energised and a general sense of well being. I started coming for treatment because I had had no sense of smell nor taste for many years. I also used to need to take my ventalin several times a day to ease my breathing. Since coming for acupuncture I can now smell again and as a result can taste and so am enjoying food – something I haven’t been able to do for a long time. I also only need to use my steroid inhaler now and do not need to use my ventalin at all.
A couple of weeks ago I hurt my large toe joint and had excruciating pain – after a couple of treatments the pain has gone and it is reduced to a very mild ache. I am an acupuncture fan! ‘Cirencester Acupuncture’ provides a relaxing treatment room with easy parking and am always greeted with a warm and friendly welcome.

I sought out Melissa in preparation for an IVF treatment. I delivered myself into Melissa’s hands for a good 6 months before the IVF cycle started and during that time I felt that the regular treatments were not only nourishing to my body, but also nourishing to my soul!
There is very little control that you have when going through IVF, and acupuncture is a way of taking control and feeling that you are doing something positive. Once the acupuncture had started, I felt an improvement in my well-being and the treatments always set me on a positive path for the following week.
A crucial part of the process of acupuncture is chatting to the therapist, and Melissa’s boundless positivity and sunny personality was always a definite tonic! She was ever hopeful but also grounded in reality, a perfect mix. I’m happy to say that the IVF treatment was successful and that I gave birth to a miraculous and beautiful baby boy. I have no doubt that Melissa’s genuine interest and care, her positivity and her expertise in the field of acupuncture and fertility had an impact on my success – so a HUGE thank you from me to you Melissa!! xx
